An Expert Advisor only works while its terminal is running, connected, and close enough to the broker for its entries to fill where it expects. That is the whole case for hosting it off your own machine. We map 5,169 live broker servers and measured 4,092 real pairings, so you can see the latency before you buy rather than after.
The first two are solved by any always-on host. The third is the one that depends on where the host is, which is what the measured figures below are for.
Of the pairings we have measured, 560 come in under 1ms and 3,163 under 5ms. Median is 2.0ms. Those are TCP round-trips to the broker's own address, not pings to our own datacenter.
Broker-sponsored VPS is often a good deal if it is in the same datacenter as that broker's server and you meet the balance threshold. It is worth checking where theirs actually sits: a sponsored VPS on the wrong continent can be slower than a paid one placed correctly.
Yes, subject to the spec. The current tier is 2 vCPU / 4 GB, which comfortably runs multiple charts and a handful of EAs; heavy tick-level backtesting alongside live trading is what tends to exhaust it.
No. Latency removes one source of slippage; your broker's own execution model, spread and liquidity dominate the rest. On our own measurements the broker-side engine mattered roughly a hundred times more than the wire, which is why we publish the wire figure honestly instead of implying it is the whole story.
